Transfer Out of State Commercial Driver License
If you have moved to New Hampshire from another state, you must get a New Hampshire Driver License within 60 days of establishing residency in New Hampshire.
If you are at least 18 years old, you can transfer an out of state license to a New Hampshire license by making an appointment to visit a DMV office.
The following are requirements for all applicants:
- Completed Commercial Driver License Application (DSMV 312)
- Proof of Identity and Residency. Please review our Required Documents list for the type of license you wish to get: REAL ID compliant or non-compliant (not REAL ID).
- Appropriate Fee
- Vision Test
- Valid Medical Certificate (unless exempt)
- You may be required to bring additional documents to your specific appointment. Please review the list below:
- CDL Drivers with a HazMat Endorsement must have Fingerprints taken through TSA and your results must be back before you will be allowed to test.
- Hazmat Knowledge test (please review the CDL Manual)
