Renew a Commercial Driver License
Approximately two months before a Commercial Driver License is due to expire, the DMV sends a renewal notice to the applicant’s address as listed in DMV records. You will not receive a renewal notice if your mail is forwarded, if you moved and did not notify the DMV of your new address or if your license is suspended.
Renewal Options
Request an appointment: An appointment is required to renew a Commercial Driver License. The following are requirements for Commercial Driver License renewal appointment:
- Completed Commercial Driver License Application (DSMV 312)
- Current New Hampshire Commercial Driver License
- If you will be upgrading to REAL ID additional documents are required. Please review our list of required documents for a REAL ID.
- Appropriate Fee
- Vision Test
- Valid Medical Certificate (unless exempt)
- You may be required to bring additional documents to your specific appointment. Please review the list below:
- CDL with Hazmat Endorsement must have Fingerprints taken through TSA and your results must be back before you will be allowed to test.
- Hazmat Knowledge test will be given (please review the CDL Manual
- Permanent Residents/Refugees/Asylees/VISA and Work Authorization Card Holders should review the required documents for Non US citizens.
