Registration Renewal

To use the DMV Drop Box for this type of transaction, you must contact or visit the Town/City Clerk where you reside. Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Completed Town/City portion of the registration renewal.
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • State portion of your registration fee, or a telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment

Temporary Plates

New Hampshire Residents: A 20-day temporary plate is available for all vehicles purchased through a private sale, or purchased from an out of state dealer that does not offer temporary plates upon purchase. Please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of our Drop Box locations:

  • A photocopy of the front and back of the Title signed by the seller and buyer; or a photocopy of the Bill of Sale. The Bill of Sale must include the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the date of the sale, the Description of Vehicle (Year, Make, Model, Color, # Cylinders and Body style), Signatures and Addresses of both the buyer(s) and seller(s).
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • $10.00 fee (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")

Out of State Residents: You may be eligible for an In-Transit temporary plate for a vehicle purchased in New Hampshire through a private sale. Please call 603-227-4030 for more information.

Boat Registrations

Renewal Boat registration: Boat owners must submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Signed renewal notice OR a copy of last year's registration, or you may submit a Boat Registration Application (RDMV 612)
  • Telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID

New Boat registration: Boat owners must submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Bill of sale, which must include the date of the sale, the Description of boat, signatures and addresses of both the buyer(s) AND seller(s).
  • Boat Registration Application (RDMV 612)
  • Telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID

Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

Duplicate Registration

Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • A completed Application for a Duplicate Registration (RDMV 110)
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • $15.00 fee (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")
