Transfer Out of State Driver License
If you have moved to New Hampshire from another state, you must get a New Hampshire Driver License within 60 days of establishing residency in New Hampshire.
Applicants at least 18 years old
If you are at least 18 years old, you can transfer an out-of-state license to a New Hampshire license by making an appointment to visit a DMV office.
The following are requirements for all applicants:
- Completed Application for Driver License or Non Driver ID (DSMV 450).
- Proof of Identity and Residency. Please review our Required Documents list for the type of license you wish to get: REAL ID compliant or non-compliant (not REAL ID).
- Appropriate Fee
- Vision Test
Information for Non US Citizens
Permanent Residents/Refugees/Asylees/VISA and Work Authorization Card Holders should review the required documents for Non US citizens.
Applicants under 18 years old
Drivers under 18 years old who wish to transfer a Driver Education course from another state must contact the Driver Education Office to ensure that all requirements are met as required in RSA 263:19. New Hampshire does not honor or transfer driving permits from other states.
