Municipal Agents
Municipal Agents are agents of the State of New Hampshire.
Municipal Agents are appointed Municipal Officials who are an agent of the state authorized to process registration and title transactions on behalf of the Division of Motor Vehicles. Most town or city clerk offices are considered Municipal Agents. Each Municipal Agent signs an application and contract with the State of New Hampshire acknowledging they will abide by all rules and laws set forth.
Certification Process for Becoming a Municipal Agent
To become a Municipal Agent, you will need to provide the governing body approval letter, which may be obtained from your Selectmen and a completed Municipal Agent Contract and Municipal Agent Application, which may be from the Agent Help Desk. Once we have received these documents, the first step is to become Certified Municipal Agent through our training program.
